Career and Achievements

Chiara Tirotta’s Biography

Born in 1990 in Reggio Calabria, she graduated in Vocal Studies from the “F. Cilea” Conservatory in Reggio Calabria, where she studied under her father, Maestro Gaetano Tirotta.

In 2014, she was awarded First Prize at the “European Community of the Experimental Lyric Theatre A. Belli” Competition in Spoleto and was invited to participate in the Festival dei Due Mondi, where she made her debut in Gianni Schicchi as Zita and in Alfred by F. Donatoni as Eleonor, under the baton of Maestro Marco Angius.

A winner of the competition for the “Accademia di Alto Perfezionamento per Cantanti Lirici” at Teatro alla Scala in Milan, she made her debut during the La Scala seasons as Angelina in La Cenerentola by G. Rossini and as Un pâtre in L’Enfant et les Sortilèges by M. Ravel.

She subsequently made her debut as Dorabella in Così fan tutte at Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, a role she later reprised at the Dubai Opera House during the Teatro di San Carlo tour.

In 2021, she debuted at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona as Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia.

She has performed at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro as Marianna in Il signor Bruschino and as Melibea in Il viaggio a Reims.

In 2023, she made her debut as Charlotte in Werther at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, where she later returned as Bradamante in Orlando furioso.

Recent and upcoming engagements:

She made her debut at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie as Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, a role she subsequently reprised at Teatro alla Scala in Milan and will perform again in 2025 at Teatro Comunale di Bologna.

She debuted as Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona and at Teatro Comunale di Bologna.

She made her debut as Angelina in La Cenerentola in the Marche Opera Circuit.

She will reprise the role of Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie in 2025 and will perform the role of Dulcinée in Don Quichotte by J. Massenet in the 2025–2026 OperaLombardia season.
