Luca Dall’Amico

Career and Achievements

Born in Vicenza, Italy, Luca Dall’Amico is one of the most promising Italian basses of his generation. Graduated with honours in trombone, organ, and composition at the Conservatorio di Musica di Vicenza, he studied voice with Sherman Lowe, Stefano Gibellato, and Roberto Scandiuzzi. In 2009, he was chosen by Riccardo Muti for the role of Agamennon in Iphigénie en Aulide at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. Shortly after, he made his debut at the Teatro alla Scala in Pizzetti’s Assassinio nella Cattedrale.

From 2009 onwards, Luca Dall’Amico enjoys a regular collaboration with Riccardo Muti, under whose baton he sang Banco in Macbeth, Zaccaria in Nabucco, Jacopo Loredano in I Due Foscari, Fiesco in Simon Boccanegra, the title role in Attila, the prestigious concerts “Le Vie dell’Amicizia” in 2011 and 2013 in Ravenna, Mirandola, and Nairobi, and the “Concerto al Quirinale 2015”, broadcasted on the Italian TV channel RAI1. In 2012, he sang the role of Attila in a concert at the University “La Sapienza” in Rome with Riccardo Muti at the piano.

Besides the roles mentioned above, his repertoire includes a vast range of characters such as Don Giovanni, Don Alfonso in Così fan Tutte, Figaro and Conte in Le Nozze di Figaro, Publio in La Clemenza di Tito, Selim in Il Turco in Italia, Mustafa in L’Italiana in Algeri, Alidoro in La Cenerentola, Oroveso in Norma, Rodolfo in La Sonnambula, Raimondo in Lucia di Lamermoor, Frère Laurent in Roméo et Juliette, Timur in Turandot, Colline in La Bohème, Pagano in I Lombardi alla Prima Crociata, Ramfis and Re in Aida, Procida in I Vespri Siciliani, Ferrando in Il Trovatore, and Sparafucile in Rigoletto.

Numerous invitations followed to perform in the most prestigious Italian festivals and opera houses, such as Teatro alla Scala, Rossini Opera Festival, Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Macerata Sferisterio Opera Festival, Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza, Teatro Mario Del Monaco di Treviso, Teatro Pavarotti di Modena, Teatro Donizetti di Bergamo, Arena di Verona, Torre del Lago Puccini Festival, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro Regio di Parma, and Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, among others. On the international stage, Luca has enjoyed artistic collaborations singing at Teatro Real de Madrid, Santa Barbara Symphony, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Salzburg Festival, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Seoul Art Center, Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Theater, Royal Opera House Muscat, Opernfestspiele St. Margarethen, Wexford Opera Festival, Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, Graz Opernhaus, Teatro Nacional de São Carlos Lisboa, Lithuanian National Opera Vilnius, Skopje Macedonian Opera, Philharmonie Köln, Opéra Royal de Wallonie, Wildbad Rossini Opera Festival, Nagoya Opera Festival Japan, and Théâtre de la Ville de Luxembourg.

Luca Dall’Amico has collaborated with prestigious conductors and stage directors such as Riccardo Muti, James Conlon, Myung Whun Chung, Christoph Eschenbach, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Daniele Callegari, Daniel Oren, Speranza Scappucci, Paolo Arrivabeni, Stefano Ranzani, Gianluca Martinenghi, Pier Luigi Pizzi, Cristina Mazzavillani, Massimo Gasparon, Franco Zeffirelli, Marco Gandini, Josè Cura, Francesco Micheli, Henning Bockhaus, Micha Van Hoecke, Damiano Michieletto, and Lorenzo Regazzo.

He sang Raimondo in Lucia di Lamermoor and Elmiro in Rossini’s Otello at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège; Selim Pacha in Rossini’s Il Turco in Italia at the Opéra Grand Avignon; Maurevert in Meyerbeer’s Les Huguenots at the Théâtre Royal de La Monnaie (in co-production with the Opéra National du Rhin); and Betto di Signa in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, also at La Monnaie.
