Career and Achievements
Francesco Lucii’s Biography
Francesco Lucii, a young Tuscan tenor (1996), began his vocal studies at the “Luigi Cherubini” Conservatory in Florence, where he graduated in 2020. He later refined his training with internationally renowned artists such as Mariella Devia, Giulio Zappa, Donata D’Annunzio Lombardi, Brigitte Fassbaender, Alessandro Corbelli, Alex Esposito, Carmela Remigio, and Roberto Frontali. He currently continues his advanced studies under the guidance of Donata D’Annunzio Lombardi.
Praised for his even vocal range, smooth legato, clarity of diction, and natural stage elegance, Lucii performs a repertoire ranging from bel canto to Mozart, also including works from the French and contemporary repertoire.
In 2022, he made his debut at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago in La rondine by Puccini, followed by his debut at the Donizetti Opera Festival in Bergamo as Enrico in L’aio nell’imbarazzo, alongside Alex Esposito and Alessandro Corbelli.
The 2023/2024 season saw him performing as Fenton in Falstaff (Theater Kiel), Tamino in Die Zauberflöte on the AsLiCo tour (Como, Pavia, Brescia, Cremona), and as the lead in three productions at the Teatro Regio di Torino, where he portrayed Almaviva, Tamino, and Bastiano in performances for young audiences. That same summer, he took part in the Rossini Festival in Bad Wildbad, singing in Il signor Bruschino, Gli Arabi nelle Gallie, and in a reduced version of Il barbiere di Siviglia.
In 2024, he performed the role of Guglielmo in Elisabetta, regina d’Inghilterra at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Edoardo in La cambiale di matrimonio, and covered the role of Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi at the Bregenz Festival. In April 2024, he made his debut at the Opéra National de Paris as Lippo Fiorentino in Street Scene by Kurt Weill.
In 2025, he performed Ernesto in Don Pasquale at the Kiel Opera House, where he also sang Grimoaldo in Rodelinda. During the 2025/26 season, he sang Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi at the Teatro São Carlos in Lisbon and appeared at the Donizetti Opera Festival in Bergamo in Caterina Cornaro under the baton of Riccardo Frizza. He also performed Tamino in Die Zauberflöte in Warsaw and Fenton in Falstaff at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari.
He has taken part in prestigious academies for young singers, including the Puccini Academy, the Bottega Donizetti, the Rodolfo Celletti Belcanto Academy, and the Rossini Academy in Bad Wildbad. In 2023, he was a member of the Regio Ensemble at the Teatro Regio di Torino.
