Federici and Abis perform in Don Giovanni at Teatro Filarmonico di Verona

Baritone Christian Federici will perform the title role of Don Giovanni alongside Alessandro Abis as Masetto at the Teatro Filarmonico di Verona, opening the 2026 Opera and Ballet Season.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest masterpieces in operatic history, Don Giovanni transcends the boundaries of the traditional dramma giocoso, revealing Mozart’s extraordinary ability to explore the depths of human nature through music and theater. Inspired by the enduring myth of the legendary seducer who defied death itself, the opera was created through the collaboration between Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and librettist Lorenzo Da Ponte.

The production, presented in the recent staging by Fondazione Arena as part of the Mozart Festival in Verona, celebrates the historic visit of the young thirteen-year-old Mozart to the city. Directed by Enrico Stinchelli, the production brings together an international cast for one of the most compelling and psychologically complex works in the operatic repertoire.

Performed in Italian with subtitles, the opera continues to captivate audiences with its dramatic intensity, philosophical depth, and timeless musical brilliance.
