Career and Achievements
Caterina Dellaere’s Biography
2019 Italian Prize of Arts winner, Caterina Dellaere is an Italian mezzosoprano with an extended and
versatile voice, born in 1997.
She studied at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia (Rome) with Sara Mingardo, and previously at the Accademia Teatro Coccia (Novara) with Paoletta Marroccu, she graduated with honors at Conservatorio Nino Rota in Monopoli.
This past seasons she made her debut at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari (as Orfeo in ‘Orfeo and Euridice‘ by Gluck), at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari (as Charlotte in ‘Werther‘ by Massenet), at the Teatro Coccia in Novara (as Tisbe in “Cenerentola” by Rossini), at the Arena di Verona (as Mercedes in ‘Carmen’ by Bizet directed), at Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo (as Leonarda in ‘L’aio nell’imbarazzo’ – G. Donizetti), at Teatro Comunale in Bologna (Adalgisa in ‘Norma’ by V. Bellini and Ragonde in ‘Le Comte Ory’ by G.Rossini), working with conductors as George Petrou, Antonino Fogliani, Giampaolo Bisanti, Marco Armiliato, Pier Giorgio Morandi and Oksana Lyniv.
In Dicember 2023, she returned to play Mercedes in ‘Carmen’ by Bizet at Politeama Grego in Lecce.
For 2024-2025 season she returned to play Tisbe in ‘Cenerentola’ by Rossini at Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza and Teatro Galli in Rimini. In May 2024 she made her brilliant debut in ‘La voix humaine’ by F. Poulenc at Modena Belcanto Festival 2024. She also made her debut in ‘La Rondine’ by G. Puccini at the Teatro Coccia in Novara (Arena di Verona production) directed by Jordi Bernàcer.
In 2025 she made her debut in the new productions of ‘The Rape of Lucrezia’ by B. Britten at Teatro
Petruzzelli in Bari with role “Female Chorus”, directed by Jordi Bernàcer and Begonia in ‘Der Junge Lord’ by H. W. Henze at Maggio Musicale Fiorentino directed by Markus Stenz.
Interested in contemporary repertoire, she performed in the world premieres of ‘De due ne famo una‘ by Cristiano Serino (role: Luna) and ‘La zuppa di sasso‘ by Federico Biscione (role: Gaia) at Novara (Teatro Coccia) and Jesi (Fondazione Pergolesi-Spontini).
Additionally, she performed as soloist for Petite Messe Solennelle of G. Rossini (2019) as well as in ‘Lo Scoiattolo in gamba‘ by N. Rota (debut role: Scoiattolo), in ‘Gianni Schicchi‘ by G. Puccini ( role: Zita), and in ‘La cambiale di matrimonio‘ by G. Rossini ( role: Clarina).
