Federici, Sobotka, Capitelli perform in Don Giovanni conducted by M° Riccardo Muti at Fondazione Prada during the Italian Opera Academy 2025
The 2025 edition of the Italian Opera Academy opened on November 19 at the Fondazione Prada with a special lecture-concert led by Maestro Riccardo Muti. Dedicated this year to Don Giovanni by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the Academy welcomes young conductors, répétiteurs, and singers for an intensive journey through one of the most celebrated masterpieces in opera history.
Among the featured performers is baritone Christian Federici in the title role of Don Giovanni, joined by soprano Iwona Sobotka as Donna Anna and mezzo-soprano Anna-Doris Capitelli as Zerlina.
The Academy’s program allows the public to attend rehearsals, coaching sessions, and orchestral work led by Riccardo Muti, offering a rare opportunity to witness the Maestro’s artistic approach from within. The project culminates on November 30 with the final concert conducted by Muti himself.
Hosted in the unique setting of Fondazione Prada’s Deposito space, the initiative continues Muti’s long-standing commitment to musical education, bringing together emerging artists and audiences through an immersive exploration of Mozart’s timeless opera.
