Career and Achievements
María Belén Rivarola’s Biography
Named “Woman of the Year 2024” by Argentina’s Radio Clásica Nacional. A highlight among her recent engagements was her acclaimed performance as Aida in Verdi’s Aida at the opening of the 2025 season at Teatro Colón (Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires (CABA), Argentina). She has performed as a soloist in Brazil, Chile, Peru, the United States, France, Italy, and Oman.
This season, 2026, she made her debut at Teatro Verdi in Trieste (Italy) in a production of Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny (Jenny) by Kurt Weill. Other commitments include Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci (Nedda); Verdi’s Otello (Desdemona) at Teatro Colón; the premiere of the opera Fior d’Alpe (Maria) by Franchetti at the Konzerthaus in Berlin, Germany; Puccini’s Turandot (Liù) at the Teatro Perez Galdós in Las Palmas, Canary Islands; and Verdi’s Don Carlo (Elisabetta) at the Teatro Comunale in Sassari, Italy.
María Belén has received awards in nine vocal competitions, including the Alejandro Cordero Vocal Competition (Argentina), the Ciudad de Trujillo International Vocal Competition (Peru), the Maria Callas International Singing Festival (Brazil), the Dr. Luis Sigall International Music Performance Competition (Chile), and the Premiere Opera Foundation International Vocal Competition (USA).
Mrs. Rivarola is a representative of Opera for Peace, an organization that aims to provide equal opportunities to emerging opera artists worldwide.
Russian Romantics is her debut album, featuring art songs by Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, and Rachmaninoff.
Born in Argentina, she began studying piano at the age of seven. In 2017, she earned her degree in Singing from the Instituto Superior de Arte of the Teatro Colón. She has received national and international scholarships from Mozarteum Argentino, allowing her to further refine her vocal technique in the United States.
