Maria Mudryak Stars as Countess Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro at Beijing’s National Center for the Performing Arts – July 15, 17 & 19, 2025
Beijing, July 2025 – Naturalized Italian soprano Maria Mudryak will star as Countess Almaviva in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro at the prestigious NCPA Theater in Beijing, with performances from July 15 to 20, 2025. Mudryak will appear on July 15, 17, and 19, under the musical direction of LÜ Jia, Artistic Director of the China NCPA Orchestra.
Known for her lyrical elegance, Maria Mudryak is considered one of the most sought-after lyric coloratura sopranos of her generation. Her portrayal of the Countess promises a refined, noble interpretation, blending Mozartian style with her trademark emotional depth and stage charisma.
The production is directed by José Luis Castro, with sets by Giuliano Spinelli and costumes by Irene Monti, and features an international cast including Markus Paul Werba (Figaro), Benedetta Torre (Susanna), Alessandro Luongo (Count Almaviva), and Miriam Albano (Cherubino).

Naturalized Italian soprano Maria Mudryak (born in Kazakhstan, 1994), acclaimed in roles such as Violetta (La traviata), Mimì (La bohème), Liù (Turandot), and Marguerite (Faust), has gained recognition on several prestigious international opera stages.
Highlights of her career include performances at Arena di Verona, Teatro alla Scala, Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Bolshoi Theatre, Royal Opera House Muscat, and Greek National Opera, collaborating with renowned conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Plácido Domingo, and Daniel Oren.
A winner of multiple prestigious competitions – including Operalia (Audience Prize, 2017) and the AsLiCo Competition – Mudryak has been praised for her combination of technical precision, expressive intensity, and broad vocal range. In December 2024, she was appointed Goodwill Ambassador of Kazakhstan.
