Alberto Comes performs Ramfis in Aida at Gran Teatro Nacional
Bass-baritone Alberto Comes will perform the role of Ramfis in Aida at the Gran Teatro Nacional in May 2026.
One of the most celebrated masterpieces by Giuseppe Verdi, Aida returns to the stage of the Gran Teatro Nacional, bringing with it the grandeur of ancient Egypt, monumental choral scenes, and the unforgettable triumphal marches that have made the opera famous around the world.
Behind its spectacular setting, however, lies a deeply intimate drama shaped by love, loyalty, sacrifice, and the relentless conflict between personal feelings and political power. At the center of this rigid and imposing world stands Ramfis, the High Priest whose authority embodies the spiritual and institutional force governing the fate of the protagonists.
On stage in Lima, Alberto Comes will portray Ramfis, giving voice to one of the opera’s most solemn and authoritative bass roles.
Performances are scheduled for May 17, 20, and 22, 2026.
