Adriano Gramigni is Oroe in Rossini’s Semiramide at Teatro Massimo Palermo
Bass Adriano Gramigni will perform the role of Oroe in Semiramide at the Teatro Massimo from March 11 to 18, 2026.
Gioachino Rossini’s monumental masterpiece returns to Palermo for an event of remarkable historical significance. Nearly one hundred and fifty years after its last performance in the city, Semiramide will be staged for the very first time at the Teatro Massimo. The opera also holds a special place in Rossini’s career as the final work he composed for the Italian stage before leaving for Paris.
Known for its grandeur, vocal virtuosity, and richly dramatic atmosphere, Semiramide blends political intrigue, mystery, and tragedy into one of the most ambitious operas of the bel canto repertoire.
On the stage of the Teatro Massimo, Adriano Gramigni takes on the role of Oroe, the solemn and enigmatic high priest whose presence guides the opera’s unfolding destiny and dark revelations.
