The role of Princess Eboli
The role of Princess Eboli is among the most compelling in Verdi’s repertoire — a woman of deep contradictions, torn between love, jealousy, and remorse. From the seductive Veil Song to the dramatic O don fatale, Eboli’s music reflects her inner transformation from vanity to redemption.

About Verdi’s Don Carlo
Based on Friedrich Schiller’s play, Verdi’s Don Carlo delves into the tension between political duty and forbidden love, faith and freedom, father and son.
Set in 16th-century Spain, the opera unfolds through grand arias, duets, and ensembles that reveal the inner struggles of its protagonists — none more conflicted than Eboli, whose fiery temperament and profound repentance embody Verdi’s vision of human passion and tragedy.
Through Nozomi Kato’s interpretation, the Princess Eboli becomes a mirror of Verdi’s dramatic genius: a woman consumed by desire and guilt, yet redeemed through courage and sincerity.
