From September 6 to 19, 2025, Teatro alla Scala will present Rossini’s beloved La Cenerentola, a dramma giocoso in two acts with libretto by Jacopo Ferretti. This production, entrusted to the soloists and orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala Academy, will feature the legendary staging by Jean-Pierre Ponnelle, revived by Federica Stefani, under the baton of Gianluca Capuano.

Chuan Wang as Don Ramiro

Tenor Chuan Wang will perform the role of Don Ramiro on September 6, 9, 13, and 15. His participation at La Scala marks a new highlight in a season already rich in prestigious engagements. Earlier in 2025, he appeared in Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari (March) and Turandot at the Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv (June–July). Following La Cenerentola, he will close the year performing at the Christmas Concert in Trieste (December 23).

This staging also benefits from Andrea Giretti’s lighting design, ensuring Ponnelle’s iconic vision retains its visual impact for contemporary audiences.
